6 Steps to Finding Balance
in an
Unbalanced World
- The first and most important step for finding balance is finding our breath. Yes, our breath. By breathing in and out of our bodies deeply several times throughout the day, it centers you back into your own body and your connection to spirit is stronger.
- Each day begin your day by thinking about how you want to “BE” in the world during the day. Many of us look at our to do’s and think about how much we have to get accomplished. However, by thinking about how we want to BE, it allows us to connect to those parts of ourselves that keep us balanced. For instance, I want to stay centered and calm during the day. I know to do this I need to take a few minutes every couple of hours to connect to my breath and breathe into my body calmness.
- Visualization: Visualize yourself standing in knee deep ocean water and whatever comes your way, big waves, small waves, huge amounts of waves you are still standing strong. As the day begins to unfold and things come at you expected or unexpected, you can go to the picture in your mind of how strong you stand in the whirlwind of activity.
- Set goals – These goals can be split between getting things accomplished (doing) and a way of being during the day (being)
Example: My goal is to stay light and see the humor in the day (being state)*
My goal is to do the laundry, shop and return client calls (doing state)
- Look for synchronicities – if you are always looking at how things work out in your life or the synchronistic qualities of life, you will find more and more of them happening in your day. This will bring you more peace and balance.
- Stay grounded…. When the world becomes unbalanced for us, it usually means we are out of our balance or our center. A really effective way to become centered is by taking a walk. While walking, you connect to the energy of the earth which is very grounded. If you add in a breathing exercise… breath in calm, peace or whatever you are desiring and release stress and negativity, in 10 – 20 minutes you will feel incredibly balanced.
